Dude, you’re right….no one tells me EXACTLY how to get this all setup…..
You have no idea how much this video just helped me out because I had no idea where to start! Thank you!

Would it work if i had an HVLP gun that required 8CFM and a compressor that puts out 8.8CFM at 40PSI)
about 1 year ago
@bongripbaker
What is this?
about 1 year ago
some cheaper HVLP guns are 7-9 CFM.
i just bought a coleman powermate thats 8.7 CFM @ 40 PSI, and im gunna match the HVLP gun to that (TCP cheapo 3 gun kit @ 80$) @ 7 CFM.
you have a beautiful setup though. question: what brand of paint are you spraying? im thinkin of either gettin some Sherwin Williams, or even cheaper ebay stuff — will be spraying my 03 mustang – in black…

Good Video. I’ve been researching auto paint myself. One auto body paint book I’m reading said to get a LVLP paint gun so to avoid buying a huge air compressor for a lot of money. It’s harder to find them today but, you can find them on the internet.

Hey that is some good info,but before you spray be sure you are not getting any oil in your air supply, like i was even a new compressor will have a little oil carry over I don’t know why the best thing is the filter you have plus a coalesting filter good luck !

Thank you men !!! i did not know and i did not have any idea of what kind of compressor to use with the gun, but you open my eye’s now at least i have a good HVLP gun, good video.

yea i have some really cool ideas for it, i want to paint is black with a mirror finish with white interior with black stiching. i also want to put chrome sidepipes on both sides of the car. i also have 3 of each part(thank god for junkyards) so im going to make some more unique parts. i also have 3 engines so im goin to make one original one to just have and one to “over haul”

that Coleman 27 gal w/8.2 cfm @ 40 psi would prolly work (your compressor might have to “catch up” – let the tank refill). A friend told me he is using rubber hose coiled in a large basin filled with ice water which allows the warm moist air to cool before it reaches your gun. You would want a evaporator/water filter. Worth a try. the worst thing that would happen is you shoot “orange peely” paint. Start with a 2 stage primer to experiment. Try base & clear on test panel. Have fun.
