I think both Tim and Jeff both agree they’ve gotten even faster since they’ve switched over to Spectratex – their tip dries down to nothing and their color flows gotten better if that was possible for those two. Doug at Bluegrass and Spencer are saying the same thing.

@blindbraille Blindbraille – know idea who you may be, but Wicked Jeff would tell ya’ Tim could hang with him if he wanted/needed to. At Tim’s new Tike Airbrush local in PC he’s kicking ‘em out at about twenty an hour when he’s got a “convention” in the resort.

I wouldn’t wear the shirt, but as a painting it’s excelent.

@blindbraille I have a messed up back
so no automotive for me. I’m not sure what
the future holds. I like writing, painting,
music, graphics, but I live in a bean field
in nowheresville so there’s no $ and no
one here is into art ref buying it. rock on.

@TeesByTruthSurge yeah man that’s one of the easiest ways to get a shirt looking proportionate. I used to use an overhead for all my car portraits because I just couldn’t get the lines right. I took a perspective class and started using that, drawing shirts with white chalk pencil or solid gray graphite for white shirts. When I am at the fair I won’t take a custom portrait though because speed is key. But the next step, because you are very talented, seems like getting into bike/car painting.

@blindbraille I did a painting of two poodles that turned out
really good but again, it took me some time to do it. It’s on my tee-shirt channel
if you want to see it.
@blindbraille All my shirts are done by taking a photo and projecting it
onto the shirt and tracing with a charcoal pencil and
then painting it after masking off with frisket to protect the unpainted shirt.
It’s not some transfer that I paint in but I do trace it out
so my proportions are right. That shirt took me prob
10 hrs considering all the emails, mockup edites, tracing the mask and the shirt, etc. You could prob do it in 3 if you did it all day long.

@TruthSurge That’s an awesome shirt, and no, custom portraits or car portraits take at least an hour color even longer. I do all mine freehand though, idk if you use sublimation or pre-made stencils good for you to each his own and to make a piece of work like you have there takes some talent.

@airbrushinfo Yeah I never said he wasn’t good, but he’s not the fastest quality out there. I don’t care who he is, because I have seen the best. You haven’t seen fast till you see jeff jackson or chris stevens paint live. They make this guy seem like a slug riding a turtle. Before you jump down my throat maybe you should understand what I am saying. If you want to make money, a lot of money and fast you paint fairs or holiday malls. If you can’t paint a beach scene in under 1 min don’t bother.

Here’s a tee I did using Aqua Flow Jet Black thinned down quite a bit. You can’t do this freehand or in 5 min.

@TruthSurge That is the very talented and, when not teaching, very fast Tim Mitchell of Tiki Airbrush at the Edgewater Resort in Panama City Beach, Florida
about 1 year ago
@blindbraille Dude – he’s giving basic instruction there. That artist is Tim Mitchell one of Panama City’s fastest and most taleneted airbrush artist. He’s been at it there for over 30 years and blows others away. The artist you call “this guy” blows others away. He runs Tiki Airbrush at the Edgewater Resort in Panama City, has the best designs (all of his own making) and is the fastest quality T-shirt artist I’ve seen in thrity years of working in the industry.

how do you heat treat?!

wwooow j’aime beaucoup , c’est très joyeux comme image. Je t’encourage à continuer
about 1 year ago
If you have special paints, it will not. Createx has awesome (best in my opinion) paints. dry them (for about 2 hours) and then heat treat them (3 minutes with 150 Celsjus degrees).
how much for one of these ?
If you heat treat it the colors will last. And DO NOT put the shirt in the dryer. I will ruin it!!!

I have 15 airbrushes I work with when I am at a show be it in the mall or on the road. Tee shirt art from home is nice as a hobby but to paint professionally you don’t have time to swap out colors. Especially not when you paint on average 300 pieces of art a day. The way this guy is painting is nice and all but you have to be much much faster and still be able to put out the same quality. Unicorn on a skateboard, on deviantart . com look at that and browse my gallery so you know im not FoS.
