I have to admit I am very impressed with the quality of your videos here on youtube.
They are certainly a pleasure to watch as I do enjoy them.
I am sure there is many others who also feel the same about your videos.

Go to a wall-mart and buy cheap plastic folders or traper keepers… cut the front and back page out then draw your stencil on them and cut them out…

Hi, You can get various mylar sheets. The self-adhesive, laminating sheets (made by Avery and GBC, etc.) can be purchased online or at office supply stores. The regular non-adhesive mylar sheets are usually available in larger sizes at fabric hobby stores. Apparently the solvent-proof nature of mylar is handy for making templates for fabric projects as well. Also you can get transparency sheets at office supply stores. Also you can get transparency sheets as well which are mylar.

That’s an Xacto Knife. You can get them about anywhere including painting stores, hobby and craft stores, office supply stores, hardware stores, on eBay, on-line, etc. The make a number of different styles of blades as well some of which can make curve-cutting even easier.

Good idea. I almost bought some templates at the art store here, and they’re pretty darn expensive. I’ve been saving cereal boxes for a few months. They’re thin enough to use. Though, not see-through, but will do a good job until they wear out. I just wanted something to draw some flames when I went to the art store. $20 for one!! Pretty outrageous if you ask me.

Good point. Yes, the lamination sheets I use here are in fact mylar which is a high polyester plastic that is solvent proof. They make these clear lamination sheets out of mylar for that very reason — so that they protect documents, photos, etc from chemicals. My latest template making video further explains that and other sources of mylar and other tips and tricks as well.

Awesome but i use mylar instead of this plastic which i think is better , but both of them do the job.

Thanks — this is great!! Very helpful sart instructioon from this Chuck Bauman guy.
I am very shocked to hear that LaValle has been messing with this guy’s YouTube videos. I guess LaValle is a “weasel with an easel” just like he says — What a jerk.
