Weird L’il DeVilbiss Air Compressor

Pulled into a huge ServiceStation for air for my Junker Clunker Hyundai, and this is all the air they had…
We are painting a door & quarter on a ford van for a local used car lot. Ideally the handles would be removed but this is an economical job. In this video BASF products are used & the side is cleared with a devilbiss GTI and basecoated with an Iwata LPH400

@ jimmo
jim if u had no choice but to paint a hood outside and the tempereature was no higher than 50 degrees, how long would u wait between applying each coat?? also in mixing a quart of urethane single stage do u have any mix ratio you prefer for better flow or do you go by the book?

lol. I like the 3M gold paper, it’s really nice to work with. Were gonna pick that up soon when we go waterborne.

Thanks hove,
I did blend the door, it did get pretty close to the edge near the bottom. I took a good part of the door for my blend, i guess I didn’t really need to….must of had a heavy hand that day.
I did not step the base down on this job, I do sometimes on the harder colors.

Was this a blend job? It’s hard to tell because you covered about 95% of the exposed area. Only thing that wasn’t really sprayed was above the handle. Seems to me you would just spray the whole side if that much was going to be painted. Also did you step down the base each coat? I mean as in reducing it each coat. Good work though and it looks like a great repair. Thanks Eric
