Dear TIM: draw some rusty steel on my to-do list. No anti-rust paint really work? I did not have much luck in the past. Do you use any kind of cease-rust paint with good success? What are the tricks that used to ensure the paint does not flake off over time? Any tips you can share would be much appreciated. Sandy P. , Greensboro (North Carolina
Dear Sandy: I’ve got a lot of experience of painting rusty steel and iron. Over the years, various paint products I’ve used has changed, but, I’m still having great success maintaining the metal from rust.

If you travel a lot, and you see the rust and paint to stop the use of several bridges, interstate highways. Rust is a big problem for these structures, in addition to countless factories, buildings, towers and other exposed to the weather. Because this is a solid building materials, strong and affordable, and it’s used everywhere. The problem is that when left unprotected, it wants to form rust, oxidation, which can weaken and make it look bad.
The paint industry has been developing paints and coatings do not believe for years that would protect the steel from corrosion. I remember well over 30 years to see some of these paint shop specializing in paint purchased from a regular basis. These paints are not on the shelf for regular customers, as was the special coatings that were used by businesses, painters and wide-ranging.
